Because he hasn't made Christianity his own. Just because a person was brought up in a particular faith doesn't mean that they believe it. And sometimes even if they believe it, it takes a while before you are mature enough to fully understand that humans have a spiritual need and how best to meet those needs.
As some have said, Judo isn't a religion, but it does go against Christian teachings. Christians are to be peaceable. Judo or any other type of martial art is a form of fighting and is not compatible with Christianity.

I don't think he is going against his Christian upbringing. Judo translates into the "gentle way". It has that name for a meaning. It teaches you to defend yourself without force.
Here is a more detailed explanation.
Judo, which is translated as the "gentle way", teaches the principle of flexibility in the application of technique. This is the flexible or efficient use of balance, leverage, and movement in the performance of Judo throws and other skills. Skill, technique and timing, rather than the use of brute strength, are the essential ingredients for success in Judo. For example, in Judo classes you may learn how to give way, rather than use force, to overcome a stronger opponent.

ok, in the beginning, it particularly is a very undesirable question, yet then additionally, you won't have the ability to form, or write. It particularly would desire to be: "My son says that he's taking Judo. Why might a boy, raised in a sturdy Christian domicile, turn against his own?" i'm sorry you have self belief Judo is a sin. i understand of this guy that instructs it and owns a city, and he is going to my church. you're dramatizing and overexaggerating...

Not sure where you get that it's against Christianity. Judo is Martial Arts/Self Defense. Are you saying it's wrong to defend oneself or another?

Judo is a form of martial art and not a religion. You can believe in any religion and doing - at the same time - any kinds of sport

You have GOT to be kidding. Judo is a martial art. It can be considered a form of Zen Buddhism, but it would have to be something that is practiced with that held in mind.
It's no more religious then flower arrangement, calligraphy, archery, or drinking tea.
It will build self esteem confidence balance and an appreciation of other cultures different from our own.
Relax.

haha, judo has nothing to do with christianity or any other religion, it is a form of self defense. Perhaps if you took the time to read about it, or for that matter something other than the Bible, you would know this
