He has a new g/f he likes making out with, in front of the family. And when I try to stop him, he cusses me out and basically tells me to go to hell.

He needs to learn some respect. If he wants to live under your roof, it's OK that it's by your rules.
#1 no more girlfriend over until he can behave himself with her
#2 he will get grounded if he keeps lashing out. Take away the TV and the car. If he's locked in his room, take away anything
#3 He comes straight home school to the house and you will supervise him while he does his homework in front of you. He can earn privelages if he behaves, but otherwise he has zero social time (don't feel bad)!
YOU are the parent, not his equal or his friend. Tell him like you mean it! :-)
I'd say do something ASAP. With zero respect and a loose girlfriend, it's only a matter of time before he gets her knocked up or gets an STD.
It may require more time on the part of you and your spouse for awhile. Also, talk to your spouse so you can both be on the same page with this new approach.

ok, this is what every parents should do with their teenagers. 1.put your foot down-tell him he should watch his mouth 2.take his girlfriend,friend privileges away 3.call the girls parents and tell them whats going on 4.dont take any b.s from your son no matter if hes 16 or has a girlfriend. tell him its your house and as long as hes living under your house your rules he has to follow each and everyone of them or he can not see his friends and can not see his girlfriend anymore until he learns your the one in charge and learns your the one who gave life to him and until he learns not to get mouthy with you. ok dad - time for you to use your greatest weapon - embarssement!
when he starts cussing at you - get the photo albums out - show his girl friend what he was like at bath time, and speak to him like a baby, do everything you can to embarsse him.
it sounds mean BUT he is doing that to apear hard and manly infront of the his girlfriend, if you make him feel like a little boy he will stop.
you could also try banning her from your house

Do exactly what my sister did to her child. It's going to be hard on you but so worth it. Tell him the next time he mouths off to you, you aren't taking it, and you are going to put him out in the cold. Then when he does mouth off, tell him if you are such a bad mother he can leave everything you have ever bought him and he can go. Tell him you want the clothes off his back, his boxers, socks and shoes and he can stand outside. And if you have to.......DO IT!!!!! But be firm!!!!!!!!!!

embarrass him in front of his girlfriend.
just a suggestion, when u r around only them two u and ur wife should make out in front him and see how he feels. make sure noone else in your family is in the room if u decide to try this, it might traumatize them for life.

Take him out to lunch and really LISTEN to what he has to say. Most teenagers don't think adults care about them. Remember what it was like to be a teenager? Peer pressure is a whole lot worse now than it ever was when we were kids. If you listen to him he'll probably listen to you.

start making out with your significant other in front of him and see how he feels about the blatant disrespect. and when he says nasty things to you, he wants to get a reaction. he loves to see you get pissed off, and have it ruin your day. he probably finds it hilarious. so dish it back. be sarcastic. when he gets fed up and does his whole, "what's your problem??" then sit him down and talk to him.
