If their cause is so "righteous", why not share their activities out in the open for the whole world to see? Instead of this, you see an "hiearchy" of curtains from bottom to top in this apparent "gangland" system. If you feel you are in the "truth" then why be selfish and hide the "truth" from others? If anybody can show me a Satanist, I'll show you a snake in the grass.

Contrary to your claims, Satanists have never claimed to be righteous. We have stated that we're the only religion in the world based upon the exaltation of the self and the recognition of human animal needs.
As to why we don't share our activities out in the open, I'm not sure what you mean. The major Satanic organizations all have websites that describe what goes on within their organizations pretty accurately. If you're looking for specifics or an invitation to every single Satanic event, I suggest you join one. If you'd like to know what the fundamental basis of Satanic ritual and magic is, go pick up a copy of the Satanic bible. Otherwise, if you're not interested, maybe what we do on our own time isn't really your business. Unlike other religions, you see, we don't feel that convincing people to join us makes our religion stronger. We'd rather leave people to their own devices.

I would say that if Satanists are so "secretive" as you say, then it's probably because "Satanism" has such a horrible connotation in the modern world. People associate them with animal sacrifices and worshiping Satan, which is completely not true at all. Satanists simply believe that Man has power over himself, his circumstances and his world, rather than the traditional religious believe that puts God in control of everything. If I were a Satanist, I wouldn't go around advertising the fact, that would be pretty ridiculous of me.

Actually - there have been Satanists who have allowed documentary makers into their rituals. I've seen 2 televised Satanic rituals in documentaries about the occult in the last six months (both on Discovery). So what is so secret about it? Do you think it's secret just because you can't walk into their "temples" at any point and observe a service? You are obviously ignorant about the topic.

I think the problem is society's attitudes. Satanism is automatically equated with wickedness and evil in the minds of most people yet I suspect those who would condemn are totally ignorant of what it involves.

True paganists are no more secretive than members of any other religion. If you ask them about their beliefs they'll tell you. They'll also tell you their religion has nothing to do with goats, killing chickens etc.
The "satanists" you're speaking of tend to be disturbed, mostly young, mostly men, who hear about something violent that they can join in with. They keep it to themselves because that type of person tend to be insular anyway.

BECAUSE THEY WORSHIP SATAN!!!. Ya know, the bad guy, the evil one, the Lord of Darkness, blah blah blah...
Try wearing a t-shirt that says "What Would Satan Do?" and see if you don't get a rock upside your head. It ain't exactly mainstream thinking.
