Yes, they are the same nut. It depends upon where you grew up as to what they are called. Similar to Soda or Pop, which is the correct? All depends upon where you are in the country. Where I'm from its Pop, most often it is Coke or Pepsi, depending which chain of restrurant you're in or which is on sale at the grocery store.
