Buddha never said anything about the origin of the earth or the universe, nor did he speak of the afterlife other than reaching nirvana... we dont know what that means, is it living in heaven ? or something else? Buddha wanted us to not focus on the metaphysical questions & instead deal with our daily problems and the suffering we all go thru in this life here & now. If we can have a clear mind & a happy life, that is more important than where & how the universe was formed & what happens after death... as we will only find out the answers to what happens when we die after we die & nobody on earth can answer that.

"There is no reason to suppose that the universe had a beginning at all.The idea that things must have a beginning is really due to the poverty of our thoughts."(Bertrand Russell)

Buddha said:The beginning of this universe is inconceivable since they have neither beginning nor end.

The speculative explanations of the origin of the universe that are presented by varoius religions are not acceptable to modern scientists and interllectuals. The Buddha did not waste his time on this issue although he did made passing references to the magnitude of the cosmos. The reason for his silence was that this issue has no religious value for gaining spiritual wisdom. To the Buddha, the beginning of the world and the end of the world is within this SAMSARA!

Buddha said not to worry about how the Universe came to be because our minds could not fathom the real answer.
