"unpardonable" means unpardonable...

Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

It this that has been referred to as the unpardonable sin.

The unpardonable sin is committed against the Holy Spirit. It is not pardonable because the Holy Spirit is the one that leads a person to seek pardon and if the Holy Spirit has been rejected He cannot do the work of leading a person to feel his or her need of forgiveness. No felt need of forgiveness = no forgiveness

Therefore it is called the unpardonable sin because the person who has committed it does not desire to be pardoned and one responsible for leading a person to have this desire has been rejected.

No one can be born again or accept Jesus unless he or she acknowledges and surrenders to the impressions that the Holy Spirit makes upon his or her conscience.

It is not possible be born again, accept Jesus and commit the unpardonable sin all at the same time.

No person can be saved if he or she commits the unpardonable sin. The person who is born again and accepts Jesus, continuing to reflect His character cannot and does not commit the unpardonable sin.

The person who is born again is supplied with power to resist sin and has no desire to continue in slavery to sin.

If you are concerned about committing the unpardonable sin, this is evidence that you have not committed the unpardonable sin.

Only the Holy Spirit could cause you to be concerned about sin.

We can be saved so long as we want to be saved and cooperate with God in order to be saved.

If you have committed the unpardonable sin, you have no interest or desire to be saved and born again by accepting Jesus. You would no more want to get saved than the Devil would want to get saved.
If you want to accept Jesus, you have not committed the unpardonable sin.

If you have committed the unpardonable sin, you actually wouldn't care about this issue because you would already be irrevocably, spiritually dead.

The mere fact that you can ask this question says that you have not done the unpardonable sin and therefore Jesus is still asking you to come home.

All sin is forgivable. The unpardonable sin is not related directly to salvation in the sense of repentance, so if you are born again and accept Jesus you are saved.
I have known satanists who tried to commit their lives to Christ but were tormented for the oaths they had taken and repeatedly fell back into sin. One committed suicide.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.

It's very unlikely that anyone could commit the unpardonable sin, except for God's elect, in the times of the anti-christ and the false prophet.

It really depends if there are unpardonable sins. Protestants will (or should) tell you that all sins are equal and all are covered by accepting Christ. Other forms of Christianity may classify some sins as unpardonable.

Blaspheming God's Holy Spirit is the unpardonable sin. The Pharisees and the Sadducees did this via asserting that the miracles Jesus did have been performed via the skill of devil, quite than via His Holy Spirit. Denying that Jesus Christ is God's Son is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, because of the fact it fairly is He Who attracts people to Christ. given which you do not look to disclaim Jesus Christ,His Holy Spirit, nor God the daddy, have you ever believed that Jesus died on your sins? if so, you have not committed the unpardonable sin.

Howard you have asked a very good question. I was a Little concerned about remarks several have made.
It shows some people's mentality.
I did not particularly like seeing someones sit down.
back to your question. I would hope so. there are many different beliefs in this.
I for one hope that we can be forgiven. for me it depends I guess on how one interprets bible verse's.
I guess I get confused where if we are not a christian at all
how then would we know anything about the unpardonable sin?
Now your question makes me want to really search for an answer as well as how my life has been.
thanks for a good question ...
