A little girl that rings a bell after the bridal procession walks down the aisle to announce the bride.I've seen a little boy do it before, before the bride starts walking down the aisle, he walks down,shaking the bell saying like "the bride is coming, the bride is coming".

Stephanie is right but if you are using a church that has a peal of bells in the tower, they may refer to the boys who ring them as bell boys. My church has them and if yours does too then you will need to inform the minister of this tradition of the bell girl because he or she may think something else.

Stephanie is correct. It's a very old tradition. But I think it's cute, and it's a great thing to do if you've got a couple little girls in your wedding.
