As a Christian, we are supposed to marry for the purpose of having children; however, I don't think that is the case this day and age. Not all couples are able to make children; therefore, people should marry because they love one another and want to spend eternity together. There are plenty of children that can be adopted to create a family.
Good question.

It makes no difference if they want children or not. Children are viewed in the Bible as a gift from God, but they are also a great responsibility. The Bible teaches that it is better to marry than to commit fornication. We live in one really messed up world and bringing a child into it may not be viewed by some as a good idea. Not to mention the fact that children are expensive! The Bible brings out that who doesn't sit down and calculate the costs before beginning to build. That same counsel could apply to 'building' a family. Why should a couple be bound to having children just because they love each other if they aren't emotionally and financially ready to have a family?

I am Buddhist. We have no rule of any kind that says that Buddhist must have children. In fact, if you have children, you are not required to raise them as Buddhist, and they are not required to become Buddhist.
There is no rule that says you can't marry even if you don't want children. Only monks do not marry.
BTW: Buddhism is not really a religion; it is a philosophy of life. It is sometimes called the “Godless religion”.

Since one part of the solemn vows of marriage is to "accept children lovingly from God" - no. The Church teaches that sexual union has two equally important purposes, which cannot be separated - that is, we cannot use sex for one purpose to the exclusion of the other. The two purposes are the unity of the couple and the procreation of children. Sexual union that is not open to both purposes is disordered.

Marriage is not just about making babies. It's about sharing your life with someone else. If you don't want to give what it takes to raise children, please don't make them.
Most people who don't want children in their life, still would like sex in their life. Since we believe having sex outside of marriage is wrong, marriage is the plan of God.

I believe you can be married and never have kids but if God wants you to have a baby you will. God Bless!

If two people are in love, regardless of gender, beliefs, race, or anything, if they are in love, they should spend the rest of their life together.

I am an atheist. People should do whatever they wish, in terms of marriage.

Well, if they are not having sex to make babies then they should not be able to have sex. LOL
We want to encourage the fundamentalists to not have children. Why? They will brainwash their children too.
