Maybe, if the government finds itself new leaders that are not corrupt and can impose an "iron fist" in the country.
Firstly, to become a rich country it must have a great leader that can impose strict policies to discipline the people and make them see that they can also help in the improvement of the country. I'm not saying that leader declare martial law like the one by Marcos but, I'm saying that the people must learn to see things in a different way, because most if not all Filipinos think that the country is hopeless. They don't see that there are many great things in the Philippines. The Philippines has abundant resources that are not used productively and it also has many great minds and talents that are to be are not well appreciated or not yet known. This is the reason the Philippines is not improving in terms of economy.
I'm a Filipino and i'm one of the few who believes that the Philippines will someday become rich. But this can only be acheived if the people and the government work as one. The government must know how to use the countries resources wisely and properly . They must not be corrupt and learn to value the coutry and their people more than their selves. They must also learn to prioritize things like education and health which i think are the most important. The people on the other hand must learn to accept changes in the system because if there are no changes there won't be any improvement.

I'm from Philippines, and I believe that there's no way this country be the richest even in 50 years. Look our country is damn small, resources are just not as rich as compared to other big countries out there. And thats not our big problem! Our big problem is the Government. Government here is one of the most corrupted in Asia. I'm not being an anti-philippines here, I'm just being honest about it man. And if our government would be like this forever, man we are in shambles.

Philippines is beautiful? Yah! I would totally agree, no more argue with that. Our country have a lot to offer. But the government is just wasting the nature of our country, they don't promote it like other countries do. They just think of collecting amass of money and put it in their pockets.
