He abandoned the whole universe after the Big Bang ... that wasn't God who helped France before the 13th Century!!

He didnt left you, but it is rather pointless asking Him to come in glory and help you when you will only stand doing nothing and glaring... Why He should? You are His "blessed tools" - His believers and followers. Message from God is like His hands - they can gide your hearts how to find agreement, build better future, stop hatred and lack of dialog. However all depends on You, how you understend God and His Message. I think I can not help no more. Its your task to do. Its your home. Its your people. By the way seems only God is a leader in winning with His enemies by changing them to His friends or at least into good neighbours. I wonder if you can learn that.

He never abandoned them to begin with they abandoned Him when they did not get their victory. They out rightly disobeyed His commandment : THOU SHALT NOT KILL it stands no matter the situation they thought they were being led by Him and wound up in ruin and until the French make atonement for that they will see no useful help from Him because he said : I shall visit the sins of the father upons his sons.

Seriously, about 5% of european population attends church.
600 years to build some of the cathedrals and they probably get more tourists than congregation members.
