Yes, it has made me understand other cultures.
I've met people from all over and am in contact with them.
I have also learned about different point of views, such as yours, and have come to understand them better.

If we can have open dialogue, then yes. If I want to learn about someone else's beliefs, I post a question on here. Respectful people can answer me according to their own experience and I feel I have gained a bit of understanding.
I grew up in a small town with only 2 cultures represented. I moved later to a metropolitan area and was confronted with many many different kinds of people and it was overwhelming. I didn't even have a clue as to where some of them might be from. I really enjoy being able to learn about other cultures. I have now returned to my small town, so YAHOO! is the only source I have right now to learn still.

No, I don't think it has helped me one bit. Everyone seems angry or out to prove a point. I hope to never meet 90% of the folks who are here. Some have been really great but its all about who can take the most crap. As I said to my husband I have been called narrow minded and stupid more times in two days on this site then I have in my entire life. And I have a college degree and work as a nurse. So how stupid can I be, they don't anything about me other than my faith and I get bashed worse than I have ever been bashed by a stranger. This site sucks and I think I will get off and leave them to battle and name call to themselves

No. Because this section is more about bashing other religions than it is informing people about them.
