I bought a cruise for my boyfriend as an Xmas gift. I was a fun way to give it to him though, not just give him a few papers that says we're going on a cruise. On EBay I have purcased a little Southwest airplane, a plastic Princess Cruise ship, postcards from St. Thomas and a mug from St. Maarten. I don't want to arrange them in a basket, I want it to be a bit more challenging, like open one at a time but I don't just want a stack of gifts...what's a good/exciting way to have him open these items that will slowly start to get him mind working and trying to figure how these all tie together?

No offense taken, but I chose Xmas just because it was a bit shorter. I will be sure to use CHRISTmas in my other questions!

I like the tresure-hunt idea. Can you write poetry at all? If you can, give him one of the small gifts wrapped, with a note tucked in saying, oh, I don't know, "To find your gift, you first must see/What I have hidden on the tree." Then you could hide trinket #2 in the Christmas tree branches. And so on, and so forth. If the rhyming clues are too much of a hassle, you could just put cryptic clues like "You'll find the next clue where we keep the paper clips" or similar. This sounds like a fabulous gift and a very lucky boyfriend.

And my goodness, you have to have a pretty thin skin to get your tail in a knot about how to spell Christmas! Oh well. A very merry Xmas from me. :)

Okay, this is what I would do:
Hang the plane on the tree. If you live together, your tree (do it when he's not aroudn), if not, on the tree he sees.

Send the post-cards, maybe with just a ?? on the back or something. Don't sign it, don't make it look like it's from you. (Maybe a friend a few towns over?)

Get one of his friends to give him the mug, maybe as a joke. "Hey, it's so cold, I found this! Pretend it's warm!" (Only works in cold areas.)

Finally, save the plastic cruise ship to give him yourself, for last, and put it in a box with the papers. (Box inside a box inside a box is always fun, too.)

Leave them in a weird place where he is sure to find them, but it will make him wonder why they are there and what they are for, like in his underwear drawer or his briefcase. Maybe leave each one in a different place, one a day, until he asks you or figures it out on his own.

You be the wraping paper. Wear a sexy outfit and put the items in places like the bra and panties. Then as he undresses you he will find them and know and you will have given him an additional christmas gift. WOW

how about a scavenger hunt with clues leading him to locate these gifts? you can write up cute things leading him to each item and a final one asking, what do all these tell you? then, give him the box with the papers telling him about the trip.

you should do a scavenger hunt and buy things that lead up to it like a bathing suit... a toy boat, margarita glasses...you know fun stuff like that and lead him on a trial to find all of them and make him solve the puzzle

have you thought about the box-in-box-in-box?

You start with the actual present in a small box. Then you place them in progressively larger boxes until he ends up with an absolutely enormous box

maybe you could leave him little clues as to where all these items are hidden. or you could blindfold him, and make him guess what the items are.

blind fold him and walk him in the room in which they are. So he will see all at the same time.
