Okay...so, i was seeing this guy (who lives like 3 hours away from me) on the rebound from a guy i am in love with. The new guy says that he is in love with me, and wants to be with me, etc. He's also controlling, has alot of kinda sick (but accepted in some circles) desires, and has been in prison for murder (a long time ago). Well, now the guy i am in love with is back, and i want to be with him, because, you know, i am in love with him. So, i was talking to this rebound guy, testing the waters for a break up, and he was talking about if i said bye, he would probably kidnap me after work some night...
...and i kinda think he would. I asked if he was joking and he said no, that that should show me how much he loves me.
What should i do?

Tell multiple people you know and trust about it. Tell the rebound guy (straight up) that in your mind, kidnapping is a way to tell someone you hate them, not a way to tell them you love them. Tell him that if he kidnapped you, you for any reason, you would find that as absolute proof that he was not truely capable of loving you, that he was only capable of loving himself and being selfish. Tell him that if he wanted to show love, he would do something unselfish, something that didn't restrict ther object of his love. Tell him that true love woos a girl by showing love and putting her in control, not by taking control away from her. And tell him that if he doesn't understand love... maybe he doesn't really love you. Don't break up with him, but leave it hanging there. When he says "I love you" any time after that, ask him what "love" means when he says that. And if he says anything that might be interpreted as an excuse to kidnap you, like "I want to be with you forever" or whatever, say, "You don't love me. You're just being selfish. Don't tell me you love me again until you know what it means." You might get him to break up with you.
But tell people *first.* Maybe talk to your local police department and see if there is a way to make a record of the event without having him arrested or something. It might just be talk, but if it's not, you want to have all your bases covered.

Wow.. that is very creepy. I think that you should tell someone else about him and were he lives and things like that.... and them call him (not in person) and break up with him.... if he threatens you, tell him that you have told several people about where he lives etc. and that if he does anything they will know who did it. If he has been to jail, I am sure he does not want to go back. Also, if he threatens to kill you, call the police, and get a restraining order.

I'd wouldnt wait to get a restraining order this guy is psychotic and not the type obviously that should be fooled around with. me personally i have 4 sisters and no brothers so if my sister told me about a guy like this i would honestly go beat the crap out of him and tell him to find someone else to stalk. I don't fool around with guys like that and i would expect the same from any woman out there. hope that helps. take care

Run screaming and get a restraining order against the psycho. Why would you ever get involved with a guy who was in prison for murder? Do you have a death wish?

If I were you I would call the police and explain to them what is going on. The other guy that you are in love with tell him how you feel and that you really love him.

Well staying out of fear is not real good. He may not want you to go but that is his problem. the law works quite well and he wouldnt have you for long before the Police caught him and locked him up again.

Get a restraining order! This isn't something you want to mess with, there are a lot of sick people out there, trust your gut.
