Walk up to her and make some good natured joke about something that she is wearing or doing. For example, if she has a big bag, say, "wow, that's a big bag. Do you have a gun in there or something?" This sounds odd, but if you pick on her a little as an opener, you sound confident (which is sexy), and you sound funny (which is also sexy). At least you sound different that the other hundred guys who she has run into this week who all said the same thing (she will remember you for being unique). Telling her that she is pretty simply makes you sound like a sleaze who is just trying to get into her pants, and every other guy that she has run into this week has already said the same thing. Be different.
