Hello I live in LA, and lately i like to drink my coffee black only with sugar. However, it seems that the coffee in my office (French Roast & House blend) get sour if i dont put any cream. Any of you guys know any good coffee blend that i can use in my french press and doesnt taste sour without creamer? Also what make the coffee taste sour without creamer?
Thanks

Mocha Java is the smoothest coffee to drink black that does not get all acid in the mouth. I really dislike that acidy astringent back taste you get from most coffees.

I used to get Mocha Java beans and grind them myself

Hmm, although I hate to sponsor the corporate monster, but Starbucks makes a wide variety, about 14 I think, of flavors ranging from mild to extra bold, from three continents along with blends, with a variety of sumbliminal flavors. Kind of pricey but if you are only brewing for yourself once a day then it might be a good bet.
I just drink coffee till it's gone, if I was really going for taste I wouldn't be drinking black coffee.

Most mild roasts do not have the bitterness of bold, full blend coffees. Papa Nicholas make a mild, Hawaiin blend that is probably right up your alley.

Go to your local coffe shop and ask for a mild roast. Also, coffee is always better if you drink it fresh- within 20 min of brewing is what I've heard. It shouldn't be sitting in the pot all morning.

I'm going to second the Starbuck's Breakfast Blend suggestion. It's the only coffee I drink if I'm going to have it black.

Illy, Whole Foods carries it and Williams-Sonama. They have an espresso blend and regular ground. That's what I use in my french press. I use just splenda and know sugar. Good luck
