Oscar and his consortium of other famous names from the boxing world have basically made many forget about Arum and Don King. Is a Monopoly of "hi-profile" fights in the future for ODLH and crew? Will Oscar one day become a mean spirited, money hungry Executive with no regards for his fighters?

So far all responses are what I expected, nice job to all of you (6). One side note, robert f, I am not suggesting anything about anyone. Just using questions to see which direction the fans see the rise of GBP. That's primarily why I put the "?" at the end to signify "a question proceeded". Just don't want anyone to think I'm anti GBP, my beliefs are echoed in most of the replies I've received. True to the Sport. TY

Oscar's Promotion Company is a "breath of fresh air" for the sport of boxing. After years of tyrannical rule by King and Arum, GBP is putting the power in the hands of the men (now women) who sacrifice so much for a sport they love.

Oscar's shown that he is committed to not letting boxers retire with nothing to show for all the battles they endured. It's one of the saddest things when you see a guy who was a Champion die alone and penniless. Also, having B-Hop as a partner is ironic and fantastic. Bernard went his whole career promoting himself. Refusing to let guys like King or Arum get rich off of his sweat. Granted, it probably cost him in being able to fight the best or the highest paying bouts but I give him tons of credit for sticking to his principals.

In my opinion, Golden Boy Promotions is good for boxing. There are so many events that consist of just fighters in easy fights, but the GBP cards have their guys in against tough opponents--a pleasant change.

Although Don King has been limiting himself a bit to heavyweights and non-US markets, that's not to say he couldn't take over if he wanted to. And Top Rank is still putting on several good cards. I haven't forgotten about them, and there are even some other promotions around that get television time.

Oscar's always been somewhat money-hungry, but never mean-spirited and never so much that it would prevent him from doing what he think's is best for the sport, which really isn't that bad. I'll watch. :-)

Super for boxing. I don't think Oscar will become the creep you suggest.Oscar, after all, is a fighter at heart and loves fighters. It's the brotherhood of the ring. Great for boxing!!!! To h**l with Arum! and King! etc.

Golden Boy Promotions is going to be as revolutionary to boxing as the advent of the Queensbury rules were.
It is taking the fate of boxers' lives out of the hands of the Arums and Kings of the world, and putting it into the hands of fighters, themselves.
It is a long overdue development in the sport.

Amen Brad. Oscar stated that was one of the reasons he started the promotion company was for the financial security and protection of the fighter.
