i have one of those carpeted cat tree climing things... they have torn the s--t out of it and small carpet fibers are everywhere... expecially on their fur. knowing they they groom themselves 90 times a day is the fiber they are most likely licking up (not in high quantity) bad for them???

A very small amount is probably ok. But too much at a time or too big of a chunk could cause a blockage in the intestines. I would try to keep that cleaned up as much as possible. Maybe get a separate scratching post, so they don't use the tree as much.

Small amounts are not harmful - they'll pass right through. But large amounts could cause a blockage. It would be good to sweep or vacuum up the loose fibers, and strongly consider replacing the cat tree. (If you're lucky there might be someone who refinishes them in your area.)

Usually the biggest danger in cats ingesting fibers is it they are long, because that could easily clog the digestive tract. There is little to no danger in this.

my cat does the same thing, but he dosent eat it. i would just brush them to get rid of the fibers and it should be fine.

The pieces should be small enough to be passed easily.

I dont think it would be good for them could stop up their digestive tract

i think that you'll find its not good for them, they would usually vomit it back up.
