My daughter is 14 months and she drinks regular whole milk. But I was wondering is it safe to give her chocolate milk?

They say 1 year olds can have chocolate, and it is cocoa butter not cocoa that most people are allergic to anyway, which isn't in chocolate powder. so it should be ok.

You could also mix in pureed fruit for flavour. Or vanilla.

It's not unsafe to give a 1 year old chocolate milk, but if i were you I wouldn't. Why? Because chocolate can cause constipation. Because she LIKES whole milk, and if you start giving her the chocolate milk now, she might start insisting on ONLY having chocolate milk, and with the rise in childhood obesity, why would you want to introduce poor eating habits at such a young age. When she's older and can understand the difference between milk you drink at meals for nutrition, and a special treat of chocolate milk with her afternoon snack (hopefull something healthy like an apple), then it would be a better idea.

Sometimes as a treat I mix a little strawberry syrup or chocolate syrup in my daughters milk. This is a treat and not an everyday thing.

Yes she can,but limit the powder of the chocolate mix, because to much can get your daughter really really sick.Especially since she hasn't had any,and her body isn't used to it.

Treats and taste tests are one of the perks of being a parent.Give it to them just before someone else takes over for the babysitting duties ;)

It is safe, milk is always good for kids no matter how you serve it.

i would wit my own but in moderation, keep in mind you don't want hi/her to prefer it over regular milk. so maybe a taste test would not hurt.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with that, if she is drinking whole milk. I would be carfull. she may take some rection to it. But I don't think that there is anything wrong with that.

Yes, it's fine. I never give it to mine though. I didn't want him to develop just a taste for it though. He gets plenty of sweets as it is.
