God does not make mistakes, He chose the perfect family for your brother. Forget what other people think, something tells me you will not hesitate to stand up for him to anyone that looks down on him.

I work in direct care at a facility here in Ohio alot of are residents have Down-Syndrome.I take them on alot of trips to malls ,museums,Dr appt ,ect..It makes me soo mad the way people will just stare non -stop and I mean adults.I guess people just need to get to know more about people with Down -Syndrome. My residents are the most fun loving people and I would rather be with them then my best friends I love my job and cannot wait to go to work everyday Im sure alot of people cant say that.but like you I just wish people would learn just not to stand there and stare..

Because people fear what they dont understand. Or they are shallow people with insecurities of their own. Some people make themselves feel better by treating others badly. Personally I think downs is cleverly diguised as a blessing. Just think about all the things your brother has that "normal" people dont. He will never loose his innocence and sense of wonder. He will always be your best friend, and you sound like an awesome person. My best friend has a daughter with downs, and she is the sweetest thing. She has learned to ignore the rude people, and even forgive them for their ignorance....You dont get much closer to God than that.

I do not think that every one looks at him like he is a freak. Look at him yes, you look at people don't you, as for some one with DS, I have found them to be of a sterling nature, and wonderful, group of people, I admit for years I was afraid of people with DS because I did not know how to deal with them, then I found out , You deal with them just exactly you deal with any one, I have had the opportunity to do volunteer work along with DS people, and it is one of my better days when I am with them

Peopel should realize that the DS people have feelings and there are a fair amoint of them in society and that they need to respect them as they would any other person

Because most people are cruel and immature. If they actually knew anything about DS they would know many of them are actually very productive memebers of society. You just need to be patient some times, because it may take them longer than most people. Dont listen to what people say about him they have no idea.

Don't pay attention to ignorant people. People are afraid of what they don't know. You keep loving him.

Because people don't understand him. You shouldn't worry about other people and what they think.
