This is different; I remember going to the Legion club with my Dad who made this and drinking it on Thanksgiving Day. It was a tradition at that Legion post, of course when Mom wasn't looking, Dad would give me a bump of whisky in mine....

Tom and Jerry
(as dictated to me over the phone by Dad)

12 eggs
Pinch of Cream of Tartar
Canned milk
White Powdered Sugar
Hot Water

Separate the eggs; whites in one big bowl, yolks in another big bowl.
put the tip end of a teaspoon in the cream of tartar, and put into the yolks.
Beat the yolks and cream of tartar together to the consistency of egg nogg.
Add a bit of canned milk to the egg yolks to make it pourable.
Make a meringue like with the egg whites and the powdered sugar.

Heat coffee mugs in hot water or in an oven on low heat.
Measure equal parts of yolk and whites into mugs and add
hot water, and either whisky, brandy or rum.

Memory serves Dad always put in 1/3 meringue stuff, 1/3 yolks, topped it off with
hot water and booze.

Of course this stuff is good without the alcohol.

Bailey Irish Cream .. I'm a wine drinker and absolutely can't stand sweet alcoholic beverages. But for some reason I have to have Irish Cream when I'm decorating the tree or when we're wrapping presents.

White russians. I don't know why, but my sister-in-law always makes these for the holidays. They're just yummy. (I think it's vodka, Kahlua, and milk or cream)
