I tossed it out and made hot dogs....quick and easy. My step daughter eats hot dogs. But, she decided she did not want them last night. I told her that as long as she found something healthy to eat that she could fix herself, I didn't care but I was not going to make three meals in one evening. She called her mother and told her that I would not give her any supper. I explained to the mother and she understood. What kind of discipline should I do concerning this?

Sounds like something I would have pulled when I was younger:)

But, you need to put your foot down. Not as her parent but as anyone who is disrespected by a child who knows better. Take into account other instances, is this a common occurence or does this happen infreuently if at all. Address it, and dont let it slide. If she is a teenager she may call you a b*tch, but in the long run she will grow to hae more respect for you.

My stepmother called me on this sort of stuff, and while we did not see eye to eye I did grow to respect her over time.

I Hope THis Helps,
Amy

You need to learn how to cook, for your own sake and your family's health and harmony.
First, stew is so easy to make, but it takes time. If you work, get a slow cooker and follow the directions for beef stew. You can make a simple thickener after you get home from work. That step-daughter needs to be part of your learning process. Confess that you can't fix everything that she likes and get together over a cookbook to pick something out to surprise Dad with. Quick and easy things, like spaghetti and gravy with loose fried ground meat, stir-fry with several veggies, even a few nuts tossed in at the end.

Hot dogs are not healthy eating. Maybe you and Stepdaughter could pick something out of the cookbook and go shopping for the ingredients. Embrace the challenge and enjoy your new encounter.

Discipline is a natural flow of caring, directing and understanding. Try again to come together.

My step daughter has done that before. She will twist things to make it look like I'm horrible(only sometimes), it used to be really bad to the point where when she would go to her moms on the weekends we would go over things (mom and I), that happened during the week. Mom would call me and ask if sd told her something, I would tell her what really happened. We finally figured out that daughter was just trying to make us argue, now we know what she's doing and she gets punished accordingly, depending on the severity of the lie and mom and I don't stress about it.

first off, i would have told her to either eat the hot dogs or dont eat supper. Second of all....why tell her to find something "healthy" when your eating hot dogs...those arent healthy. Theres no discipline needed structure is whats needed.

None she is trying to pit you and her mother against each other. It is normal. What you both have to do is back each other up. When she sees it doesn't work she will stop it.

What you don't want to do is fall into that trap of evil step mother!

Had that tried on us when it didn't work they stopped it.
