A few years ago the "lemon battery" was big in the news. Place 2 dissimilar metals into it (zinc and copper work well or a nickel coin and a bronze coin). You can power a very small motor for a number of weeks.

A Commercial version is the potato clock based on the same theory but an LCD digital clock being much easier to power.

Easy. Just stick a nail and a piece of copper wire in the lemon. A voltage will be produced across the two. You will not be able to do any real work with this battery, but can read the voltage with a voltmeter.

Interestingly enough you can make a battery out of a Sodium anode and a Chloride cathode. You've got to be very careful handling it, though, or you could be charged with a salton battery.
