What does the word Muslim mean?
Muslim means "the one who submitts himself to God's will"
Abraham's faith was not Judaism and wasn't Christianity. Abraham never worshipped Jesus but he only worshipped God. Jews are the progeny of Abraham fro Isac. And Abraham had also Ishmael who followed his faith..not Judaism.

Abraham was a Muslim with the meaning of the word not the meaning of 5 prayers a day and so on..Abraham's faith was the same as Islam.

"And strive for Allah with the endeavour which is His right. He hath chosen you and hath not laid upon you in religion any hardship; the faith of your father Abraham (is yours). He hath named you Muslims of old time and in this (Scripture), that the messenger may be a witness against you, and that ye may be witnesses against mankind. So establish worship, pay the poor-due, and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protecting friend. A blessed Patron and a blessed Helper! " (Qur'an 22:78)

Abraham was the first person to realize, by logic, that there is a Creator and through that, found God and by prophesy, learned much of the Law before the giving of the Torah.

He was called an 'ivri' Hebrew as he stood on the other side of the spiritual divide between himself and the rest of pagan humanity.

Thus he was a Hebrew, a forefather of the Jews.

He was not a muslim, nor a christian despite the ranting of some of the other responders above and likely below.

Abraham had a basic belief in a creator, God. There was no religion attached to this, and in those days his people were primarily nomadic. He is the father of the two lines of people who became the Jews and the Muslims, via two of his wives. He was the foundation of both lines, both which eventually espoused the concept of one God, one creator.

His descendants were the ones who came up with actual religions, including dogma, over and above faith alone.

Abe was a Christian. He lived by faith and had a personal relationship with God. The Gospel is older than Abraham and predates the Law.

Aberam awoke one day and destroyed his fathers idols and left his father idol worship and went after the One true God.
The I AM of creation. He is the father of all the living yeat not all who breath are living. The promised seed of Aberam whom God renamed Aberham. Is Issac whom GOD promised thur Sarah the mother of all living. Issac begot Jacob. Thus the I AM is the god of Aberham, Issac & Jacob. There decendants are the people know as the Jewish race and they are the people of the Covenate of God and Aberham. The torah came via these people and the prophets and the mighty men of God.
Jesus came to bring the last covenate. Because of the disobidence of the children of Israel. God thru Jesus has entered into forgiveness of mans sin thru the blood of the lamb. God closed the eyes of israel and send his Son to redeem the world to himself thru the blood of a new covenate paid for by his blood. Jesus is the redeemer of God for all whom God allows into salvation gate. The new testiment came via these people building and completing the Torah. The new testiment was sealed in revelation bringing a curse to any one who added to it.
Muslims are not God people. They are not in covenate with God there is not blood of a conenate between them and God. These people have no words from God they. They practice adultry, idol worship, animal sex, they murder there own children,
they lie to steal land, they are a curse on the land, they are lazy
Their lies are as wide and deep as the nile and they know nothing of the one true God. These will be destroyed by GOD ferce anger in the days to come.

Issac was the child of promise

(Heb 11:8) By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

(Heb 11:9) By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

(Heb 11:10) For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

(Hebrews 11:11) Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

(Heb 11:12) Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

Abraham belonged to the Poltavish Church, and was allowed to have many wives and concubines, which confused him greatly. He said "Lord, there are too many!" Then Isaac returned from Gudur and brought even more.

The faith of Abraham was believing God when it didn't make "logical" sense to do so. To believe. Jesus spoke of Abraham, that Abraham knew Jesus before Jesus came down to earth at the first advent and was overjoyed at His coming.
