Whenever I pet him or he's really happy he'll drool all over the place. Is this normal?

It's completely normal, assuming he's done it all his life. If a cat suddenly starts drooling, then a trip to the vet is warranted. It could be an absess tooth or a gum problem, so you'd want to have your cat's mouth checked. But if your cat has always done this, no need to worry. Cats sometimes drool for the same reason they knead with their paws. Its comes from kittenhood. When nursing on their mother, they would knead with their paws to stimulate lactation. The subsequent drooling is basically similar to how we salivate when we see a delicious meal set down in front of us! Some cats, regularly reminisce back to their kitten years when they are stroked and shown affection. And it's seen more in cats who were prematurely removed from their mothers as kittens, preventing them from being properly weaned. So while, it may be strange, it's not unusual. To your kitty you are it's mommy, so in that respect, it's quite an endearing quality!

I even have in my opinion experienced, in 4 diverse cats... 4 diverse motives for drooling: a million) The cat we purely rescued from a carpark had a sprint chilly, and became into happy and purring and loving, yet became into drooling. 2) undesirable tooth 3) sleep drooling purely like people lol 4) Mouth maximum cancers

They can get so focused on the petting and contentment that they do drool. Just like a toddler who is concentrating really hard on something. The fun part takes all their attention. It is like being in a trance.

Maybe for your cat, but I have been around a few and none of them drooled.

LOL My mom's cat does the same thing! Yeah I think it is normal. I think it just means they are reveling in the attention and the pleasure of being petted. Kinda takes the fun out of it for me though! Gross! LOL

Some breeds do that, like boxers. I think a Maine Coon is one of them.

Mine does the same thing. I guess she's so content that she forgets to swallow? I've had a couple of cats do that.
