Dentist extracted baby tooth that I still had until I was 30. He pulled the tooth, which took 2 hours of yanking, wrentching and tugging on the tooth and it finally came out. Dentist put on a temporary bridge and I was back 2 days later with an infection in the hole. That cleared up and he put on a permanent bridge. Spot has been painful on and off, also too much pressure on the jaw where tooth was can cause pain. I do floss under the bridge, but not enough. Now my gumline has pulled back from the 2 surrounding teeth and dropped below the fake tooth. Now there's black in the gum right under the fake tooth and a black line running toward one of the neighboring tooth. I have had blood when flossing, but that has diminished. I'm also going back to the dentist today. Any ideas what the problem could be? I have another bridge on the other side and have treated it exactly the same as this newer one and I've never had any problems from it. Thanks.

alot of the time theywill have you bring the child about an hour early and give them chloral hydrate, a mild sedative, it starts to take effect and the child gets wobbly with shaky balance and may even go to sleep. Either way, nitrous oxide(laughing gas) is the way to go, the child is calm, slightly sleepy and then a local injection is given, often times, the child is completely unaware and the procedure is very easy on them. Is your child on antibiotics right now? Usually it is standard procedure if the child has an infected tooth, to put them on antibiotics for several days before hand. To help your child be mentally ok, keep him away from older kids who want to tell him alot of 'gory details.' You can help too by getting all the facts so that you are at ease, your child will sense this in you and feel okay too. Good luck, sometimes we learn to parent through situations just as you are! shelly

OK well frist off he never should have extracted it if it wasnt giving you any problems. and it sounds like you may have some gingivitis problems and an infection and that is going to turn into perio problems if you dont get that checked.
O yeah get a new dentist

It sounds to me like your dentist damaged the nerve and did a bad job with the extraction. I would to to an oral surgeon and see if you may need to have the nerve treated to end the pain. Also you may have an infection in your gums and jaw that has not cleared up.
