I am not a gold digger but I have been dating a guy who won't spend a dime on me, we are in college but he always buys expensive food from whole foods, new clothes for himself. I have made the effort to split bills, I even gave him a 10 starbucks card when he told me he was working on a paper. I don't work so I can't buy things that often but I make up for it in my attention,time, affection, validation, and commitment.
He has mentioned to me for christmas some pretty expensive gifts that HE wanted 300.00-600.00, but the other day he said that he wants to spend 20.00 or under instead???
I am not looking for a rich man, but I just thought when you love someone you want to give to them and make them happy....
Why has he become so cheap? Does that mean he does not love me?

It doesnt mean that he doesnt love you. Why should a man have to pay? Maybe he expects you to pay your own way and he pay his. I dont know why so many women feel it is their right to have a man pay anyway. If he wants a 20 limit then buy him a 20 gift...get over it. If he makes you feel good and happy then stay. If he doesnt , then leave. Money shouldnt be a factor right now anyway!

sounds to me like he is a bit selfish..i wouldn't buy him nothing over $20 as that is what he requested
you have to decide what is more important though, how you feel about him or his spending habits
