Islam requires men to be modest just how it requires for women to be modest.
* Men have to cover themselves from male and female between navel to their knees.
* Men cannot glance at females with lust and desires. Anytime they see a woman, they are ordered to lower their gaze.
* They cannot intermingle with females freely.
* They should avoid shaking hands with women for shaytan (satan) is the third person between a man and a woman. It is better for him to have a nail driven through his hand than to touch the hand of a strange woman.

You are associating "modesty for men" in islam?Ive had thought that would be the last thing on their minds.Regardless of sect, they all dress the same.If a women accuses a man,or a group of men,of rape, she has to come up with 5 male witness or she gets had up for promiscuity.

Yes. Area from our knees to the belly button area must be conceal at all cost. That is primary.
Secondary the area from ankle to his hair should be covered.
Hijab for men
People usually only discuss ‘hijab’ in the context of women. However, in the Glorious Qur’an, Allah (swt) first mentions ‘hijab’ for men before ‘hijab’ for the women. The Qur’an mentions in Surah Noor:
“Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.”
[Al-Qur’an 24:30]
The moment a man looks at a woman and if any brazen or unashamed thought comes to his mind, he should lower his gaze.
Modesty doesn't mean in dressing only. It involves in speech and attitude towards everything that he do.

The western idiology of, 'if you have it, you should flash it!' is quite opposite to the Islamic principle, where the purpose is not to bring attention to ones self, but to be modest. Women and men in so many societies are just treated as sex symbols and nothing more than just a body who "display themselves to get attention" . A good example is in advertising, where a woman's body is used to sell products. Women are constantly degraded, and subjected to reveal more and more of themselves. .

from what I had learned they are suppose to cover their bodies from the waist to the knees. Anything above the waist and below their knees can be seen.
Seems that most brothers prefer to dress a little more conservative and do cover their chest and head when out.
