Pork Tenderloin? My guy is cooking one for dinner tonight...he says it's like ribs without the bones? Is this accurate? I don't recall ever having it before, or if I have I didn't know that that's what I ate. Thanks.

Tenderloin is the least tough, most juicy part of an animal. It tends to be expensive, but it is well worth the price. Your guys explanation of it is quite layman, but it will work. I am sure you will enjoy it.

The tenderloin is the strip of (very tender) muscle that runs down either side of the animals spine. It is where the Filet Mignon comes from on a cow.

Pork tenderloin is low-fat, tender and delicious. The loin can be roasted whole, or sliced into medallions and quickly sauteed or... thousands of other things!

"Ribs without bones" is not quite doing it justice... I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Best wishes!

Pork tenderloin is a muscle between the ribs and spine. If your buying the hole loin, cut it into one inch strips across the grain.Lay the meat out and cut across the cylinder shape.Take a piece of film or parchment paper and place a slice between two pieces and gentle pound down until your slice is about quarter inch to half an inch thick.Beat an egg with equal part milk together, then dip your meat into mix and pat into bread or cracker crumbs.
You could also add parmaga cheese to crumbs for added flavor.Fry in butter or oil under medium heat until golden brown.

I wouldn't equate it to ribs. Totally different cut of the pig. And many times better! Don't imagine ribs, just enjoy it because there's not a good comparison. :)

Its like the filet mignon part of the pig. It is the most tender because it is the least used muscle on a pig.
