For as long as I can remeber I've had breathing trouble. My nose is always clogged up and those nasal decongestions help but it would still come back every night. I went to the doctor and they gave me some medicine and then they said if that didn't work they would need to work with an allergist, but then my dad didn't want to take me back because I told him the medicine sort of worked. My nose arch is flat or non-exsistent. so do you think a nose job would help me to be able to breath easier?

I am 15, and part of me wants the nose job because I have always struggled with the fact that I hate the way my nose looks. The breathing problem comes second to the fact that I want a different nose.

Hi
For a start how old are you, if you are still in your teens then your features are still developing. I would suggest to your dad that you are not happy and would feel better if you talked to a doctor about the way you feel. Maybe if the doctor knew just how serious you felt and how upsetting it is for you then maybe there is something more they can do with you. I really would only think of a nose job as a very last resort. The grass isnt always greener on the other side (or so they say) You might not be happy with the results, it may not even make your problem better/ go away.
Hope my advice helps.

I would say, only your doctor can answer the questioin about surgery on your nose.
One thing that I have been doing for years, that is very effective, is using a Neti pot. You basically use warm water and a few pinches of sea salt and wash out your nose and sinuses. Yes, it sounds gross, but after you've done it a couple of times it becomes routine and you find that you have few problems with allergies, colds, and sinusitis.
I used to get 1 or 2 sinus infections a year due to allergies and sinuitis. After an infection that took 3 course of antibiotics to cure, and threats of sinus surgery, I thought I had nothing to lose. I began the Neti pot procedure about 10 years ago---since that time I have not had even one sinus infection. My doctor told me that if everyone did what I do every day, he would be seeing a lot less people in his office every day. If you would like to try this, go to the link below. The salt will last you for about a year, so it's a real bargain.
Good luck!

I have broken my nose three times ages 10 15 and 20 (I am now 55) so yes it does not look good but no I am not about to have a nose job. Before considering surgery you should ask your physician if you have swelling inside your nose and if so to prescribe a corticosteroid nasal spray. If you require surgery it should be done by someone with considerable skill as it is more difficult to work on the cartilaginous (as opposed to the bony) portion of the nose. Good luck.

A nose job to fix breathing problems is mainly done on the inside of the nose..there are no noticeable outwards changes..But the surgery for it does work..and most people who have it done claim that they have never breathed better. I personally have the same problems, and plan on getting it done soon.

Yes, you can have surgery to fix a nose/breathing problem, but I think you are using your blocked nose to try and get a nose job. Go back to your doc and get some meds or something.

Nose Job surgery has become very common now. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best medical experts. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest prices.
