with 3 mobile phones for each family member, the landline is redundant. I only get telemarketing calls on it. Anyone with previous experience on this and suggestion on how to go about this will be most appreciated. I still need the online access. Tnx

Some Verizon markets will allow you to have "naked" DSL (i.e., DSL w/o local phone service). If you subscribe to Verizon's VoiceWing broadband telephony service and transfer your local number, Verizon will effectively disconnect your local phone service and convert your DSL account to a naked one, w/ some adjustment to your billing. Don't know what that is, though.

you would have to contact verizon to find out what their policy is. I know that AT&T (formerly SBC) has a program where customers can get a discount if the customers have their cell phones, landline and internet all through the same provider - AT&T - sort of a bulk service order discount.

DSL desires a telephone line so verify with community telephone enterprise to confirm in case you may get only a telephone line devoid of DSL provider. If cousin grow to be telling the fact or knew what he grow to be speaking approximately then there would desire to already be a telephone line entering the domicile. Cousin might remember the place the telephone line got here into the domicile so he would desire to hook up his computing device. it may well be close to the place he had his computing device setup. otherwise he would not understand what he grow to be speaking approximately and had a satellite tv for pc dish for internet get right of entry to. or possibly by using a cable television form connection. Cousin may well be perplexing DSL with cable internet.

You can't get rid of the land line if you want to keep the internet access.

You can go through the cable company and get internet then you can get rid of the landline.
