Regular Elmers glue would hold your hair up, and it's washable with warm soapy water.
There are also hair products, like spun wax, etc. that can hold your hair up.

Elmer's Wood Glue. It will work much better than any salon product. Gels, waxes, pastes all have nothing on Elmers! But you really need to shave the sides, or it's not a mohawk.

If you want a true Mohawk you will have to shave the sides. To get it to stand up straight use unflavoured gelatin. Keep holding and pulling the hair up until it dries. Easy to wash out too! Please don`t use glue because if you screw up you will have to shave all your hair! Many years ago I used to do my sons Mohawk.

I heard people in the UK use Imperial Leather Soap. Which makes alot more sense than using glue.
A friend of mine used glue to put his hair up and he had to shave his head. It really screwed up his hair.

elmers glue works, but if you want to use an actual hair product, there are super strong gels and putties for hair.
