Believe it or not ... the second is straight from the Bible. Why is it that it has always been taught as two and clean and unclean is not distinguished? I am a Sunday School Teacher and while it should be easy for little ones, they should also get the correct information as the Bible reads. What do you think?

The clean were used for sacrifice. You had to have more so they wouldn't become extinct.

Does it really matter? In order to take just 2 of every species of animal on the planet (that we know of) *today*, you'd need an "ark" the size of the state of Rhode Island -- and there are less species alive today than there were 5,000 years ago. If he was supposed to take 7 of each, better make it the state of New Jersey at least. That's somewhere between 50,000 and 200,000 times the size of the ark as described in the bible.
Then, in order for rain to cover the highest mountains as the bible story says, it would have to rain 1" per hour over every single square inch of the earth for over 39 YEARS to cover Mt. Everest -- 40 days and 40 nights wouldn't even come close.
Then there's the issue of "all the animals" -- how did animals from, say Australia get on the ark? There's no land bridge from Australia to Mesopotamia, and Noah had no idea the place even existed. Same goes for North & South America, Iceland, England, Japan, on and on...
To top it all off, the geological evidence clearly shows that there never was a global flood of any kind. Never. Not just no flood around the time of the bible story -- NEVER.
Bottom line -- the story isn't just implausible, it's impossible. It didn't happen. It's a myth passed down by hebrew sheep herders who made up interesting stories to tell around their campfires, nothing more.

God told Noah to build an ark and to prepare for the flood. Noah did as he was told and then God instrusted him to fill the ark with two of every kind of animal in the world. It rained for forty days and forty nights. When the rain stopped Noah released a raven but it did not return. He then released a dove which returned with an olive branch which indicated that the waters have gone down and new life was growing. When the waters were completly gone, Noah released all of them onto the new land so they could reproduce.
I dont understand what you mean by "clean" and "unclean" animals. Noah took 2 of every animal / creature in the world onto the ark so that when the new world was formed they could start fresh.

Genesis 7
1AND THE Lord said to Noah, Come with all your household into the ark, for I have seen you to be righteous (upright and in right standing) before Me in this generation.
2Of every clean beast you shall receive and take with you seven pairs, the male and his mate, and of beasts that are not clean a pair of each kind, the male and his mate,
3Also of the birds of the air seven pairs, the male and the female, to keep seed [their kind] alive over all the earth or land.
4For in seven days I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living substance and thing that I have made I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away from the face of the earth.
