Quote "Marines. They are always first in battle and the first to die"

When was the last time the Marines were the first into battle? Don't even say Iraq or Afghanistan. Army SF and Navy SEALS were in there long before any Marine stepped ashore. The harder training would be one of those two. If you go Army SF you are looking at over two years of training. Probably about the same for SEAL training. I you are talking about a common job like Infantry the training is the same. Infantry training for the Army is 13 straight weeks. the only reason Boot for the Marines is so long is because they send everyone through infantry training. You also have the additional option of going to Airborne/Air Assault school in the Army. After that you can go onto Ranger training. I know the Marines love to talk about themselves, and that is fine. They can continue to do that while the Army does the job with silent professionalism.

Marine Corps has a smaller standing force. Army has a lot of personnel and a need to retain field strength (well marines do but they have a lot fewer slots to fill.) As for boot camp I am willing to bet both will be a test of endurance for a month.

In terms of boot camp, Marine corps
In terms of dicipline and MOS: Marine Corps
In terms of fighing style: Marine Corps
the Marines are harder, but more diciplined and elite
