Kids are going to get sick. Get used to it. It is better for you to go pick him up, I worked 3 jobs when my daughters were growing up and I missed so much including being with them when they were sick. Believe me no job or amount of money is worth it. Looking back I would have traded all of it, just to make sure they knew that no matter what, they are more important to me than anything else in the world.

You should stay home with your son. If he is sick he doesn't need to be at day care. For one, he needs you, and two the other kids don't need to be around him. If your boss says its ok to take off then you shouldn't even think twice about doing it. It's not like you are going to lose your job if you stay home. If you really can't miss work, then you need to leave him with a grandmother or aunt or trusted friend, not day care.

the ideal is to leave but when you can't do the next best thing call your mother or sister for help. familar faces will comfort the child and you won't take the chance of making all the other children in the day care ill. ps kids don't usually vomit all over from just a cold. i would try to get him seen by a dr. especially if he is carring a temp while on tylenol

You should leave and get him. Poor little fella.
Family should always come first. I know that you may miss out on a little money, but if you don't look after him, you may miss more than 1 or 2 days at work.
Hope he feels better soon. Sounds like one of those bugs going around.
Cheers!

When situation like this, you should think of the worst scenario.
What if you son is not well taken care of and become very ill and it will cost you even more to send him to hospital.
You sounded like a single parent without any kind support to me. Yes it is tough, but I think you should take a day off to make sure your son is well. He may get worse. A couple of day pay may be much better than a week in hospital!

My daycare wouldn't keep a vomiting child so I wouldn't have a choice.
Personally though I think you should go get him. No one cares more for your child that you and it sounds like he is worsening so he should likely be under a mother's watchful eye.

Your child is more important than any job. Go be with him. If taking off hurts you financially, try and cut back on other expenses so that the impact won't be devistating and you can still be with your child.

your sick son should be your priority. sick little boys only want their mommies. at that age, being sick is scary and confusing, on top of feeling miserable. take the time off and feel good about it! your son needs you with him. plus he shouldnt be at day care if he is sick!
