As stated previously to this question,
speech therapist can be beneficial. They will give you exercises to help your stuttering. Taking time to think before your speak or avoid getting nervous are two things that will or might help.
Again, I knew a neurologist (brain doctor) who stuttered. I thought that was amazing that he would choose that field of medicine. I was proud of him for that.

For a speech pathologist, it would be the stuttering that takes place under observation during the treatment phase. There is also pre- and post-treatment stuttering.

Stuttering is a communication disorder that affects a relatively small percentage of the population. Incidence is about 5% with those persisting beyond childhood resulting in the 1% who stutter worldwide. Those affected by this physiological/socioemotional disorder can experience extreme difficulty in situations in which communication is most meaningful to them. A lifetime of negative communication experiences can lead to both social and emotional disability. Early intervention is the key, but it is never too late to receive quality therapy and make a positive change in communication ability.

There could no longer be a "treatment," yet stuttering could be controlled to the ingredient the place it is not great. I had a extreme stutter as a teenager, yet I had encouragement and motivation to regulate it, considering i had to talk publicly. i chanced on that it helped to consciously loosen up in the previous conversing. it style of feels an oxymoron to declare that I 'compelled' myself to loosen up in the previous conversing, yet it relatively is basically what befell. As I entered my youthful adulthood, the stutter became into obvious basically in circumstances of leisure overload. For the main area, I grew to grow to be stutter-unfastened in adulthood. I now provide public lectures often, devoid of hint of a stutter, and people are purely surprised once I tell them I used to stutter...horribly.

I know this person who stutters but it seems to be only physiological since he only stutters if people are looking back at him, like when two people speak they look at each others faces but he is fine when you do not look back at his face.
There are things like fluency shaping therapy where they are helped to relax their breathing, lips, jaw etc and stuttering modification therapy which trains them to make their stuttering less sereve. They also use medication but sometimes have side affects and make the stuttering worse.

It is the study of various treatments, usually medical, to determine what treatments (for various diseases and conditions) work and what treatmets do not work. Simply put.
