I just bought a Sony Xplod XM-9001GTR amplifier, are they any good?

That amp is:

550W x 1 RMS into 4 ohms
900W x 1 RMS into 2 ohms


So you have some choices.

get two 275 watt RMS @ 4 ohm DVC and wire like so:

-or-

get two 450 watt RMS @ 2 ohm DVC and wired the same way as above.

-or-

get one 550 watt RMS @ 4 ohm sub. (Also recommended.)

-or-

get one 900 watt RMS @ 2 ohm sub.

I say the recommended suggestions because you increase THD (total harmonic distortion) when loading an amp at lower impedances (ohms). You will see this in the manual.

not for competion or anything like that but I bought a used one awhile back for 100.00 and had it hooked up to 4 6x9's and the rocked. if you like it its good

they are decent but nothing to write yahoo about best bridged in 2 ohm
