Personally, I usually drink for the buzz and stop. I have drank way to much before but I know my limit. There are times when things happen that cause me to lose track of my drinks or how fast I am drinking them (I'm a very fast drinker), which causes problems sometimes. Lately, I have only been having one or two for the buzz. I like to drink socially, not to get drunk or because I have to have one but I know many alcoholics.

This is one of those things where if you have to ask, it is probably already a problem. You don't have to drink every day for it to be a problem. If you can't have one drink and leave it alone, it is a problem. Alcoholism is something that can sneak up on an individual. Some people are actually allergic to alcohol, but drink anyway. I know of a lot of people who have stopped drinking all together. They found that you can have a drink without having it contain alcohol.

I learnt where my limits were a long time ago, and now I only drink socially until I get a buzz (or just one drink, if it's a week night). The joy of drinking until I fell down faded in about my second year of college. Now I'd rather sit with friends and laugh and share a bottle of wine and still be sober enough to no make a fool of myself.

Social Drinking is normally considered having 2-3 drinks over a few hours. Its meant to have fun, relax, and have a good time with your friends. It is considered a problem when it effects your life negatively. If having 2 drinks brings problems, have only one, and if that causes problems dont have alcohol drink pop or other beverages. It comes down to knowing your limits and dealing with them.

i ONLY DRINK socially...I may have like 2 glasses of wine or 2 well drinks then stop...I love water too much to miss out on drinking a bottled water. I hate being sick so I don't drink more than that...plus I think that it's not fun to feel like I'm floating and being sick in the morning...

I know when to say when, and because I care about my safety, I usually volunteer to be the designated driver.
