I hate to tell you this but you have been victimized by one of the oldest scams in the book---------the fake finch eggs.
This doesn't necessarily mean fake finch eggs. It's just jargon in the bunco squad for foisting off either real finch eggs that are infertile or fake finch eggs, usually manufactured in Indonesia from rolled bamboo leaves by 7 and 8 year old children who earn a pittance for their backbreaking toil down in the mines. I've seen it with my own eyes-------it's simply devastating.

You don't say how many "finch" eggs you have. If you are a typical victim (we use the technical term boob) you have either two or three. I hope you have learned a lesson from the bitter gall of your experience, and in the future will only deal with people who don't sell finch eggs out of their car trunk.

It depends on which finch you have. 16 days is the longest, so I'm guessing yours aren't fertile.
gently take one into a dark room with a flashlight and put the egg directly in the light and you should be able to see inside. Click on this link for more information.
