the sour apple martini is different from place to place. My best experience has been to use a good vodka, sour apple pucker and a splash of midori (melon liquer)
1 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Sour Apple Pucker
1/2 oz. Midori
Pour all ingredients over ice, Shake well - at least 10 seconds, and strain in to a chilled cocktail glass.
The Midori is an unusual ingredient, but the Sour Apple pucker can get a little too noticeable. Using the melon liquer adds a balancing degree of sweetness to the sour of the pucker. Also, it keeps the nice green color of the cocktail while maintaining clarity that can be lost when adding apple juice, cider or sour mix (yuck) to the concoction.

Believe it or not, a really simple but tasty way is to shake three ounces of Ketel One in a cocktail shaker, pour it into a martini glass and then drop a sour apple Jolly Rancher into the glass !
