I have an 8-9 month old shep/lab/husky cross. As of the last week or so, he has become very subdued. (Which is very a-typical of his previous behaviour).

He still plays with me, but doesn't really want to run around outside by himself or anything, and he has stopped gulping down his food. He eats it, but he just comes and goes and has bits and bites here and there. I work all day, and my boyrfriend says the pup just basically sleeps waiting for me to get home. Then he sleeps all night with me... he seems happy...but I can't help but worry about my baby.

Is this normal??? Is he just getting older?? 9 mos still seems young to me.

Also, since the onset of this it has gone down to like -30 C here, could it be a winter thing?? (Keeping in mind he IS part Husky).

A sudden decrease in energy is not really normal for a 9 month old puppy- he should still be full of energy. My suggestion is that you get him checked out by the vet- there are several things that can cause him to feel bad that can be easily treatable. If he has a fever from an infection that would cause a decrease in energy and appetite. If you feel comfortable with it you can take his temp( unfortunately this has to be done rectally) A normal temp for a dog is between 101 and102 degrees. Any higher than that and he has a fever. You can not tell by a dry hot nose or anything else other than the thermometer. But I would just get him checked out so you know for sure. It will make you both feel better. Also please do not medicate him at home. Most things that people take for aches and pains are poisonous for dogs. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon.

It can't hurt to make a call to the vet and give him the symptoms. If you notice that he's acting differently, you'd know better than anyone else what's normal acting and what's abnormal.

It could be nothing, but a call to the doctor couldn't hurt. He'll as if he's eating, going to the bathroom ok (no diarrhea), things of that nature. He may just have you keep an eye on him and see if he doesn't perk up. There's lots of variables, IMHO I'd just call the vet and see what his opinion is.

You might take him to the vet. He may need some lab work done to determine what is going on.
