I'm pretty sure that the only right he would have is the right to spend some good quality time in a jail cell. If you're worried about it though, don't put his name on the birth certificate. That makes it harder to gain any custodial or visitation rights. However I highly doubt a rapist has any rights to a child fathered on his rape victim.

You would think so, wouldn't you?
Usually, the court terminates the parental rights of the rapist father. In some cases, though, a woman must petition for the rights of the rapist father to be terminated and foot the court bill to do so. This is especially horrible in the case when the woman wants to give the child up for adoption. Some states won't allow her to give the child up for adoption without also terminating his rights, and sometimes he'll agree to give up the rights for the adoption as long as she doesn't testify against him in the rape case. This actually happened to a woman in North Carolina.
The law has thankfully been changed, where the father now has to petition for this rights.
Also given that rape is a very difficult thing to prove, I'd assume that a rapist who is found not guilty will still have rights.

Well being the mother knows who the father is I would hope the FIRST thing she did was turn him into the police. If not then yes he could have rights. If there are no formal charges brought against him for sexual assult (rape) then no one will ever know how the baby was conceived. Later down the line he could be vendictive and take the mother to court for rights and that.
Now if charges are formally brought to court then the chances of him having rights are SO slim. In some cases (not sure how many sorry) courts have ordered that the father still pay child support unless he signs over all parental rights. Most of course signing over rights. Because of sex offender laws he would more than likely not have any visitation rights or if any they would be supervised.
First and foremost charges need to be brought against the offender.

The ONLY right the father would have, is going to jail. Rape is not no walk in the park, and people go to jail for a long time for that. In this type if situation the fater has no rights what so ever.

Ssadly yes, they do, unless certain steps are taken. I would start by contacting the police and filing a report against the man. If it were up to me, I'd say lie and deny the child belongs to that man. Whos going to call your bluff? No one can make you prove otherwise. If all else fails contact a lawyer. Things can be done to keep the attacker away from Mother and child, but you have to go through the legal system to get it done.

Sure, he has the right to remain silent, anything he says can be used against him in the court of law, he has the right to an attorney if he cannot afford one then one will be appointed to him and he has the right to get his a** kicked for pulling the crap he did. As for having rights to the child due to rape, then HE** NO and why should he?

there was a case where the mother of the rapist claimed for grandparents rights. I'm not sure what state it was in though. The only way to know would be to contact a lawyer ASAP.

Yeah, he has the right to life in prison.
I don't think any judge would require a child to visit someone in jail.
