The colors I am using are dark blue and light blue Should I make one wall the darker color as a accent wall. Too much light blue might be to juvenile. I want a clean proffessional look. Any Ideas are appreciated. shoudl I invest in chair molding?

It sounds like you're mixing a contemporary paint scheme with a traditional chair rail molding ... those two things don't really go together.

If you have a more traditional office with wooden desk, leather chairs, and so on, you could easily use a chair rail as a color divider. This divides the room and gives it a horizon. You can paint the darker color below the chair rail, and lighter above. This will lighten the room and also make the furnishings look "grounded."

However if you want a contemporary office, such as metal desks and modern plastic furniture, computers, etc. I suggest the "accent wall" approach with no mouldings. Paint the whole room one somewhat neutral tone, and make one wall a more intense color. Let the corners of the room be the dividing line between colors, as mouldings are not part of the contemporary style.

I agree with leigh30. Using the lighter blue on the top will make the room feel larger.

For the lighter blue I would not go with a baby blue. Adding grey to any color ads maturity to it. So find a light blue that has a shade of grey in it to move away from that juvenile look. Something like a slate blue.

from experience I've found its really nice to paint the top half of the wall a lighter color and the bottom half of the wall the darker
color w/ a chair railing all the way around
having the lighter color on the top half of the wall doesn't seem to be too much and it really opens up the room

Instead of using the two blues... maybe a soft beige, earth tone on the walls, then the dark blue. Seems to be a very sophiscated look. Test color swatches. Have fun !!!!
