DON'T eat your vomit.

an ex is an ex for a reason.

be his friend but don't get your hopes up. nothing wrong with being nice to eachother. but you are young and you can meet a whole lot more people. better people too.

Best advice is this;

IGNORE HIM

If you run into a family member or friend of his, just pretend your happy he's moved on. Then change the subject.

Your 17, he's 23... at this point in your life(s) that's worlds apart.

He has a kid? not married to the mother? unless she died or something, this guy sounds like a fish best thrown back into the pond.

damn this is the same thing that happened to my best friend a couple of times!!!! i mean my best friend was 17 at the time and my cousin was like 21 i think and they went out for 9 months!!!! now they hardly don't talk anymore and my best friend moved to west covina!!!! i miss her like crazy(i kno it has nothing to do with the question u asked) but yeah anyways you can never get over your ex if he is or was your first love....but then again it might be better to find someone your age...hopefully this helps you out!!! and if u ever need to talk just e-mail me kmy e-mail is fantasychica16@yahoo.com

this is normal, he is with somebody else now so you want him back, give it time, this will pass. go on with your life and let him go on with his. I was married for almost 19 years and my ex got involved with a woman a couple months after we separated and all of a sudden i wanted him back but it passed because i realized that i was better off without him. I went out with him once or twice after he was with the other woman and remembered why we separated! your young you have lots of time to have fun yet, go have fun and don't worry about what he is doing.

You should move on and find someone your own age. He'll always expect you to act older and more mature than you're ready to act, especially if he has a child. Do yourself a favor and just enjoy dating for fun for a little while.

In my opinion, your last suggestion is the best for all concerned.
Especially for yourself! You dont need to be involved in such.
You need to be out dating and having fun. Dont become involved in someone who has such baggage in their life already.

Find someone else. You are only17. That's too young for all that drama. Enjoy life.
