My daughter has always been a vegetarian ever since she was born. Now that she is in school she refuses to eat the school lunches that are being served. All her meals before she went to school were loving made and were served warm. What do I send her to school with that is vegetarian and can still keep well in a lunch box basically with no reheat nessecary. Her school does not offer vegan meals as an option.

Maybe you could pack her a homemade "lunchable" type meal. have some nice whole grain crackers or bread, a hard boiled egg , some cheese, and some vegetables with dips. Or you could get her a thermos and pack her those same nice warm meals you made when she was home.

Sandwiches and wraps are the old stand bys.

Consider hummus, or bean/lentil patties for protein. Or soy of you do soy.

Cheese is good too. Cheese and crackers once or twice a week. Let her assemble her own pizzas on mini pitas or english muffins.

Nut butters are a good too, they don't have to be peanut and they don't have to have jelly. You can combine almond butter and roasted peppers. Sesame butter, particularly if you make it yourself so it isn't sweet can go with almost anything. Sesame butter and baked yam slices on bread.

Cold veggies with nuts tossed in can be nice too.

Can you send a thermos. Soup is nice in the winter. And basically anything with a sauce can go in a thermos and stay warm. Pasta and sauce, etc. You can even layer things, like mashed potatoes on the bottom and then a "meat" in gravy on top.

Um well, does she eat fish?? like tuna? you could make her tuna sandwiches; i think they keep well. Sliced veggies with dip, fruit with dip, fruit salad, egg sandwiches(if she eats eggs) or peanut butter and jelly(kids love this) if your school is not peanut free. Pasta salad, if she can have her food warmed at school you could give her soup. Im not a vegetarian myself but i hope this helped

hmmm, one of the problems of enforcing a bizarre diet on a child. your choice. why are you not home schooling?

ok, personal rant aside,

try sushi: rice and veggies wrapped in nori. a thermos of vegatable soup or broth. peanut butter! (great protein). vegatable and/or noodle salads (with bean threads). and speaking of beans (another great protein), they keep well for awhile. of course a piece or two of fruit.

Stop raising your child as a vegan. While you may claim that there are "health benefits", for a developing child she is not getting all the nutrients she needs.
