I've always been attracted to intelligent, confident women. My fiancee and I have been dating for three years now, and in that time we've graduated from college. She's gone on to grad school, and I'm in the military. Her self-discipline and determination are paying off handsomely, and I have no doubt that she will earn her PhD as planned. I will be getting out of the military soon because we want to start a family, but I am not at all confident in what I will do when I get out. Sometimes I find myself comparing myself to her, which only makes things worse. What can I do to overcome my lack of confidence so that I can just be happy with the possibilities of the life ahead of us?

Remember that opposites attrack. You never know where life will take you. Never compare yourself to anyone else. We are all individuals capable of doing many things. Do you think she could complete boot camp!? Have confidence in yourself and be proud. You have the entire country beleiving in you even when you leave the military. She will never have that. LOL Just be happy w/each other.

You need to get some counseling or this will blow up in your face and you will end up making your fiancee miserable due to your own problems.

Keep in mind that she has chosen YOU and therefore she does not feel the need to have someone with the exact same profedssional qualifications she has. It is only you who feel intimidated due to a macho need to be 'better' than the woman.

If you don't get counseling, then I suggest you start dating women who are not as educated or are in dead end jobs. You'll feel better, right?

i think you should be proud of your college education and military service for one and i don't think you should bother comparing. instead of focusing on what you believe is what she is accomplishing more, what about focusing on all that you have??
