Last night I was talking with my G/F and while I was doing that her son was teasing my dog with his toy. She had asked him to stop but he keept doing it, a bit later I got a bit upset and grabbed his arm and took the toy from his hand to give it to my dog. Her son then wen't to the living room and a couple of minutes later my G/F told me it was best if I just wen't home. He told her that I had squeezed his chest and she told me he was red around his chest area. I know what I did and what I didn't do but she seemed to take his side more. We emailed each other last night but it just seems like I am telling the lie and not her son. She will always take his side, so what should I do? What if one day he says that I did something really bad that could get into trouble just because he doesn't want me around? Please give me good advice, thank you.

You're right about one thing. She will always take her son's side over yours. That's her son, she tried to make him stop, but he didn't. That doesn't give you the right to try your enforcement by grabbing the boy's hand to give the toy to the dog. It was her home, and her child. Maybe you shouldn't have taken your dog over there to be abused by the child. I wouldn't take him again. If the boy doesn't want you there, he must feel threatened that you're taking his mom's attention from him. He needs to be included. He doesn't know you well enough yet to trust you, and if you try to come between mother and child, mom will lose her trust in you too. They are a ready-made family. You are the outsider. To become part of that family, it has to be done slowly and respectably. Even if you were to end up married to the mom, her son will still be #1. You'll never have control over her child.

You know she is judging you through her son and if her son decides he doesn't really like you, she will leave you.
You should not punish her kid unless she has asked you to back her up. She isn't going to want you to punish him for a while. You should have locked the dog in a room away from the kid or told her that the dog might bite him if he kept teasing him like that, so that she would do something.
If you don't like her kid then you should really move on because that there is a package deal.
Just appologize to her for punishing her kid and tell her that if you did hurt him you didn't mean to that you were afraid that the dog was going to get frustrated and bite him.
If that doesn't smooth things over then move on. Are you really ready for a ready made family relationship?

Even though it is your dog, it is her son. You really do not have a right to touch him in anyway. You need to be his friend and respect the relationship between him and his mother. Be a role model to the boy. Show him how to play w/your dog the right way. He may not know how. This way you will never have to worry about anyone taking sides.

She took his side because he is her child. Don't expect that to change. A mother's first priority has to be her kid, not her new honey. And if she really had her head on straight she wouldn't be living with some guy who isn't her kid's father.
You're right, he could easily accuse you of something that would get you in enormous trouble just to get rid of you. So, do all three of you a favor and move on.

This will be an ongoing issue, especially if the mother doesn't talk with the son and explain who you are and the relationship that you two share. I'm not comfortable with you grabbing his arm and see that's another thing to watch as well. I hope things work out for you.

take a step back and look at this situation from an outsiders point of view. it may suck that she believes the kid over you but you may be lucky that it's the toy and the dog and not something that would get you in serious trouble like you said

Assuming you are telling the truth, then I would break it off with her because there is no future in this relationship. The boy has already learned that he can manipulate his mother and will continue to do so.
Also, if she felt you truly did hurt her son, then if she has any maternal feelings she will be breaking up with you anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that. If you're feeling that this could turn out to be a bad situation for you (legally) one day, I would get out. You don't need to be accused of something really bad and have it ruin your life. Good luck in whatever you decide.
