Our local shelter has recently put in their annual request for "blankie" donations. Blankets keep the dogs from having to sleep on cold hard concrete. This is especially helpful for the dogs with old bones.
Just wanted to mention to everyone...if you have any old blankets or towels, please donate to your local shelter this winter!!

I do rescue and we are always appreciative of blanket donations. You may think its easy to rewash but often dogs shred them and are no longer usable or puppies poo and it is much more sanitary to throw it away. We don't just need vet bills paid and to feed the dogs but we can use anything you would use for your dog. They love to get new to them toys to play at adoptions. Cleaning supplies no one thinks of donating but it helps we are always having messes to clean up and we go through bleach constantly.

YAYY, I am so happy to see such a positive, intelligent message posted!!!
I work full time at a non-profit humane society, and I can't tell you how in need we always are of blankets, towels, and really anything that our dogs and cats need! (Not to mention unscented bleach and paper towels for our endless cleaning needs!)

My dog has a bed to sleep in but I alway see her sleeping on the cemenrlove... Why? She has a blanky also...

This is a good cry out for the needs of our fourleggers we all need to remember the cold affects all living things and we need to help I will put this out on my space and e-mails as well thanks for the reminder
