David, I would answer your question with another question: Don't you think that calling Christian faith a pile of **** is offensive to Christians? I read your question, and I think that you would find the same response if you substituted Islam, Buddism, or Hinduism. The question should be "why must you be so offensive in a public forum"?
To answer your original question, Christians are told in Matthew 28 to make disciples of all nations. This is known as "The Great Commission". The trouble is, they sometimes forget 1 Corinthians 13, the chapter on love. Once of the verses is "If I have not love, I am just a clanging cymbal". Too many Christians can be quick to judge, leaving them wide open for criticism about their own hypocrisy.
So, am I offended? Not really, I've heard worse. Am I any better than anyone else for being a Christian? Heck, no, I'm just a big fat sinner who trusts in a Savior for salvation. Do I care about you? Sure! If you were in a burning building, I'd go in after you. That's how a lot of Christians see non-Christians: Standing on the RR tracks, not seeing the train coming.
Blessings right at all of ya,
S

I don't think the majority of Christians are able to come up with any other type of answer.
I've tried asking several questions myself and they all seem to be the same. Ask them for logic from somewhere other than the bible, and they stutter. I don't think a large majority of them really have the guts to question religion. They have been so brainwashed to believe, that they fear hell if they do.
But I seriously think that Christians admire those who do question, because they personally are too afraid to do so.

Everyone gets offended readily in a forum like this.
I remember a woman a couple of months back equating Buddah and Muhammed's ideas with those of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny (a tongue-in-cheek response to those who say the same about Jesus, I imagine). I recall a self-described Buddhist who went on a rant about Jesus and Muhammed being evil/insane.
Trust me, lots of people get worked up here for different reasons.

existence's studies the place we are helpless to respond with a godly attitude are given to us so as that the Holy Spirit is able to grant us the presents that we choose from God... love, excitement, peace, persistence, kindess, goodness, faithfullness, gentleness, and self administration. because they find it offensive that your beliefs differ from theirs, and you're wrong. if you're not a christian, you're wrong, and your going to hell.
they get offended so damn easily because you're questioning their "rightness"
and they know you're wrong.
I know that 1+1+1=3
but I suppose I'm wrong too
because Christians think that 1+1+1=1
they're right, you're wrong, and until you agree with them, they will always be offended that you dare question their math skills.
That, and their awfully conceited in their great knowledge.
even the young lady below my answer knows you were very specifically putting her answer as what you were mentioning.
nobody elses, just her own.
she's right though. because she's christian, making it so. and therefore, giving her the right to be offended that you were attacking her specific answer.

It's almost like a high school clique. If you don't look like them and you don't think like them, then they have to put you down and make it look like your in the wrong. Just so they can feel better about themselves. If they're right, then everyone else MUST be wrong.

Fear-they know the evidence supporting their beliefs is virtually non existent so they become defensive when anybody challenges them.

I think that they are so easily offended, beacuse they are so convinced that what they believe it's true, that they cant stand other people cuestioning their beliefs.
