I work in my living room with my huge easel and drying oil paintings ever changing on the walls.....so I can be with my family (young kids) and still paint. I have a shelf that stores all my paint etc an air purifier, a daylight diffuser lamp for working at night. I would say the way i have it set up that it is the most enjoyable of conditions.

The workspace varies from cramped, cold and messy to wide open, warm and neat. Deadlines sometimes play a factor, other times there is no limit on arriving at the end. Materials can be what you have on hand or can find, or they are the most expensive you can afford. In the end, it is the quality of the output that matters...in the understanding of materials, application and delivering of a message.

Working conditions are different for each artist, however; I find that having a place that is comfortable, is well lit and surrounding myself with objects that inspire me to be the best environment.

You just need your own space. A place you can leave as is and come back to where nothing has been disturbed. Not the kitchen table where you must continually dismantle everything and rebuild again. It can be large and clean or small and dirty. Mine is large and messy but that's me. It's my space!
