I have alot of gas bubbles, and they mostly occur in or around my rib cage area, it hurts so damn bad that I have even cried ,the pain gets so bad. But if you wait for about 4 To 5 min. they usually go away, mine have lasted for 10 min. at 1 time. I have gone to the Dr. the first time this occured and that is what he told me it was .

Sounds like kidney stones to me. If you stopped hurting, you could have passed it or it's somewhere in your body that it's not irritating.

Symptoms

The patient will frequently have the sudden onset of severe pain in the side which move down to groin, testicle or vagina, or leg, although some stones are painless. The pain may be excruciating, and has been compared to labor pains. Nausea and vomiting may occur as well as fever. There may be blood in the urine . Bloody urine may occur before the pain starts or may be the only sign of a kidney stone. It is common after a severe episode of pain for the pain to subside even though the stone has not passed. This is because of the kidney’s ability to relieve the backpressure caused by the obstructing stone. Frequently, the pain will recur as the stone starts to move again. Commonly, the patient needs to visit the emergency room.

Kidney stones, go to your doctor.. there isn't much they can do but if you have one that keeps getting stuck they can give you pain meds and anti-biotic to make sure you don't get a kidney infection.
